I have memories from the time I was a little girl getting dressed up. Of coarse I loved all the Disney Princesses! For my 16th birthday party I had a huge Disney party and we recreated a complete ballroom experience and all my friends were the princesses. Needless to say, Any chance I had to dress up for a formal, I always had so much fun going to great lengths to find the most unique dress and fix my hair fixed in the most Pinterest worthy Updo. My mom ( Holly Simpson who is a member of our staff team ) loved to use me as a model to create these intricate gorgeous formal styles. The more I absorbed her creativity not only on me as her daughter but on other clients. Seeing them experience the way she made them feel confident and beautiful for their Events, it inspired me to want to use my gifts to do the same. I started assisting her at a young age which gave me a huge head start before I went into my career path as a Cosmetologist that specializes in Weddings and Formal Events on my own.

I am Holly Simpson, I have been a licensed Cosmetologist since 1991. Even at this stage in my life, I still cherish my connection to the hair industry and I enjoy joining my daughter Mackenzie's business " Captured & Crowned Events " on weekends to assist with Hair services. I specialize in formal Hair styling. I am passionate about people and creating warm environments. I love encouraging my co workers and my clients. I am the General Manager at Pure Art Salon and Spa Studios ( where Captured & Crowned is located in Studio 109 ). Five years ago, I moved into Virginia from Ohio. Throughout my career I had done Weddings and Mackenzie would be my assistant during my Wedding Career. Since we've moved to Virginia Mackenzie has worked hard to establish her business. I have loved watching her pursue her passion but even more than that I have loved being a part of her passion for the Wedding industry. My mission has always been to make a difference by being a friendly, compassionate servant by striving to reflect the life of Jesus Christ in all that I do.

Right out of graduating Aveda Fredric Institute, I moved from Ohio to Virginia. I was on the search to be a part of a salon that would stretch my skills and that was a teaching salon. I met with Terry Back who is the owner of High Tech Salon in Verona and is a leading salon in the area. Terry has an extensive innovative approach to the Beauty Industry and is well known as a platform Artist and owned an award winning salon. I had the amazing opportunity to assist for Terry as well as 5 other very skilled Master Stylist. I eventually moved to a branch of High Tech Salon and Spa Studios in Harrisonburg ( now known as Pure Art Salon and Spa Studios) where I was given an opportunity to own my own business. I am beyond grateful to those years of investment in me as a stylist. I am passionate about continuing to grow my skill as I still train with Master Stylist, Brogen Zotov (the owner of Pure Art Salon and Spa) Brogen's Specialty is also Wedding Hair and Makeup and our businesses partner together on occasion. I would not be where I am in my journey if it weren't for my mom who trained me as a stylist by leading me towards the best beauty school in the country, directing me to top notch training salons with highly skilled Master Artist.. I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for her. I have had the opportunity at a young age to experience traveling and working in high end wedding venues all across the Valley and even out of the state.
